Favorite Moments of 2009

Michael Davies

This summer we went on a rondesvous trip up in camp fife in Boxelder County. The main objective of this camp was to learn teamwork skills and also skills that mountain men used while hunting. We participated in many activites which included many shooting sports, setting traps, fire starting and the best of all the john cloter run. This camp is a definite if you want to have fun being with your scout mates.

So, my favorite activity us varsity scouts did this year was the 50 mile hike. Unfortunately Mike Davies was in New Zealand during this occasion, which was sad because he missed out on some super awesome inside jokes. It was difficult for us on the first few days of our adventure because many of us were not in physical shape for it, but we quickly our attitude about it and had some great fun. It was a great way to bond with our team members and strengthen our friendships with one another.

My favorite activity of the year was Varsity Games. At Varsity Games, we get a bunch of scout groups in the council, and have them compete against each other in various competitions, such as Basketball, Track, Chess, Golf, just a bunch of fun activitys. I liked how we got to show our talents and abilities to the other scout groups, and how we got a bunch of medals as rewards. With fifteen medals, our team had the highest Medal to Member ratio, and it built team unity and sportsmanship. Plus the new tradition of the Pie Pizzeria, it makes our team closer together, and builds our Brotherhood.

Jacob Guymon

Jacob Guymon is a very amazing person with bicepts that can span the length of a small country. As well as having a formidable physique he also has a cunning wit that would make a taco jealous. My favorite activity was either the 50-mile hike or the varsity games. My all-time favorite was the end at the varsity games, our varsity troop got a 23’’ pizza at the Pi Pizzaria in Ogden and it probably weighed approximately 20-30lbs no joke and matt ate like three or four slices and he earned the nickname of “Mannimal.” Along with the giant pizza we did thorough workout during the games and our troop totally powened. Fin!
