Southern Idaho Summer Camp by Shane Guyman
We left on Tuesday at 5:00 pm. We as in Colten Wilson, Curtis Sorenson, Thomas Milian, and I (Shane Guymon) were the ones attending. We went to Sunrise campground by the Bear Lake. We didn't do much other than set up camp and plan for the rest of the years activites. On Wednesday we woke up, took down camp, and prepared breakfast. From there we went to Minatonka Caves which is a really cool, dark, damp, cave. From Minatonka Caves we traveled to Bloomington Lake. Bloomington lake is a glacier fed lake (really cold lake, with a big glacier) and a big rope swing. When we left Bloomington we went to a K.O.A campground and went swimming at their pool. On the next morning, Thursday we left the K.O.A campground and went a short distance to the Oregon Trail Museum in Montpelier. It was pretty cool. From there we went to Chesterfield Idaho. We took tours of old pioneer houses and did a service project. The service project involved chizeling off mortor from an old school house. The purpose of the project was so they wouldn't have to buy new bricks. From there we left to Good Enough Campground. The next morning we left for our much anticipated fishing trip. We were out on the lake for most of the day. Colten and I caught the biggest fish. They were both 21 inch long rainbow trout. We caught alot of fish. They were considered small if they were under 17 inches long. We caught altogether probally four decent sized fish and then the two twenty-one inchers. That evening we ate a lot of fish. The next morning we cleaned up camp at Good Enough Campground and went home.
